From Marshall Kindergarten to the World: How Early Reading Built Our Child’s Global Confidence
Ingrid attended Marshall Kindergarten from K1 to K3, where she was nurtured in an English-rich, story-filled environment. Under the warm and professional guidance of her teachers, she developed both a solid English foundation and a genuine love for reading.
Returning to Taiwan, life gradually settled down. Two years on, I now truly realize how much Ingrid’s early education at Marshall shaped her confidence and love for learning — even across countries and languages, this foundation continues to empower her.
Having graduated from Marshall, Ingrid joined Year 2 at a public primary school in New Zealand. Starting in mid-April, she adjusted smoothly to the new environment within just a week, eagerly participating in class discussions and completing her schoolwork with enthusiasm.
In her mid-year report (July), Ingrid achieved 1A in Writing, equivalent to the local Year 2 level. By the End of Year Report (December), all three subjects (writing, reading, mathematics) had reached 1A, meeting the expected standard for New Zealand Year 2 students.
Her teacher was even surprised by her fluency and once asked her to help translate for a newly arrived student from China, thinking Ingrid might have grown up in New Zealand due to her natural command of English.
Ingrid’s journey is living proof that when children are immersed in rich language and reading experiences early on, English becomes not just a subject — but a bridge to the world.
We are deeply thankful to Marshall Kindergarten for providing an education rooted in love, reading, and confidence — giving children the wings to shine anywhere in the world.
